Chatting 2017 Wedding Trends: Food, Flowers, and more!

Updated: Jan 8, 2020

One of our favorite parts of being a chef owned and operated caterer is that we have the ability to customize weddings in more way than one! Creating custom menus for clients is something that we love doing. We're able to blend a client's specific requests with current trends to make for a truly amazing menu! We're already seeing loads of great trends in anticipation of this summer's wedding season!

In food & drink:

Hello, late night snacks! So you and your guests have been dancing all night, dinner and dessert is hours behind you and all you want is something else to snack on! A late night snack is the perfect way to make sure that your guests don't go home hungry! Some of our favorite late night snacks are slider bars and grilled cheese stations!

Hey neighbor, let's keep it local! From the food to the drinks there are so many opportunities to keep your menu locally sourced. We're talking freshly dug clams, locally grown heirloom tomatoes for your salads, and locally crafted brews. Having great relationships with the local farms is one of our greatest assets as a caterer!

In Flowers:

Keeping it natural, the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year is (drum roll please...) greenery! Pantone describes this green-yellow color as being symbolic of new beginnings while having the ability to add nature's truest neutral into your color palette. We're loving adding greens to our passing trays for hors d'oeuvres to truly make the colors in the food pop!

In Design:

Kick your feet up and relax a bit! Non-traditional seating continues to be all the rage! We love a good lounge area off of a dance floor that allows guests to take a break, sit on a cozy couch, and enjoy some drinks! Having a lounge area can also promote more mingling amongst your guests and provide a more casual place to relax rather than heading back to the dinner tables.

Don't forgo color just because greenery is so in! Keeping your color palette neutral and adding a bold pop of color through centerpieces or dinnerware is certainly catching our eye! A big splash of color through tasteful design elements is a trend that we're definitely on board with!
