ABOUT US
Tim Hopkins has been a professional chef for over 25 years, most recently as Executive Chef at the Singing Beach Club in Manchester by the Sea, where he was also the General Manager. Tim has enjoyed catering for over 15 years, and in May 2003 opened his own catering kitchen in Ipswich with his partner Paul ten Hope. A native of Chicago, Tim apprenticed at the prestigious Medinah Country Club. Then his youthful adventures took him east, where he worked at several Nantucket restaurants, including the Jared Coffin House, Straight Warf and The Sea Grill. It was on Nantucket that he met and fell in love with his wife Christiane. Luckily, she is from South Hamilton and they decided to settle here on the North Shore. Tim was Sous Chef at Myopia Hunt Club, Chef Garde Manger at Boston's Meridien Hotel and was on the event and catering team at the Westin Hotel, where he was the winner of Boston's Chowderfest. He is also an experienced Kosher caterer.
Tim's Partner, Paul ten Hope, was raised in the hospitality industry in Hamilton, New York, where his family ran the Seven Oaks Golf Course and special events for Colgate University. Paul graduated from Babson College with a degree in Finance, and shortly thereafter moved to Vail, Colorado to work for the Sonnenalp Resort, as Clubhouse Manager. Paul oversaw food and beverage operations for the golf club and also had the unique experience of working with 1996 Culinary Olympians, Robert Mancuso and Daniel Dumont. Paul met his lovely wife Leslie, a native of Vermont while working in Vail. They both missed their families back east, and so moved back, where Paul began his working relationship with Tim as Manager of the Singing Beach Club. Paul has catered with Tim for over 10 years.
Tim and Paul are both Dads with three kids each! They are avid sportsmen, and share a love of golf.
